Running with Angels 5K Information
Saturday, May 19, 2007

Location: Thanksgiving Point Gardens
Parking: At the Gardens (at the starting line).
(For those who participated last year, please note that we will not be at Electric Park.)
Registration/Packet Pickup/Information: Tables on Saturday morning will be at the Children’s Discovery Garden.
Starting Line: On the road, near the Children’s Discovery Garden.
Finish Line: Inside the Gardens, near the Amphitheater.

Spectators may watch the starting, then enter the Gardens through the Children’s Discovery Garden, which leads to the finish line, near the Amphitheater.

Restrooms are inside the Children’s Discovery Garden, as well as along the route.

Water will be available after the run, as well as a few drinking fountains along the way. Please familiarize yourself with the location of these drinking fountains. You are also welcome to pack water.

We will begin at 9 a.m. Please take the time you need to enjoy this beautiful run/walk. We’d like you to be aware that the gardens open to the public at 10. With that, as well as the forecasted heat in mind, we will start the medals ceremony at 9:45. Any time I have come across finish lines, those who win medals have had time to go home for a quick shower and nap before I even make it. I hope you have a wonderful experience, whether you win anything or not. As runner C. Hunter Boyd stated, “Last is just the slowest winner!”

We’d like to offer our sincere thanks to our gracious host, Thanksgiving Point. Please be gentle and respectful of the beautiful landscape. We’d also like to remind you that this is not a triathlon, so participants as well as spectators need to refrain from dipping into the waterfall or the streams!

We are excited about the proceeds this race has created. There has been a fund established for women who would like to improve their health through various programs offered through (Intermountain) Utah Valley Regional Medical Center Women’s Clinic. I would like to offer my sincere thanks to our participants and their families for supporting this effort. It is a dream come true for many.

I also offer my gratitude to those at the hospital, especially the Women’s Advisory Council, for their wonderful help in putting this race on the past three years, as well as other events. These women offer a kind helping hand to our community!

We’d like to thank our generous sponsors and donors:

I have heard wonderful stories from many of you who have overcome incredible difficulties in your lives. Please continue to share them, if you’d like, through pam@runningwithangels.com. We’d also like to thank Pam Staich, for bringing her doves to the starting line. We honor the family of Steve Williams, a family of “WILLPower,” who will be releasing them this year. We realize many of you will be running in honor of those angels in your lives. We hope you have a heavenly run!
